“Where Dreams Take Root” is a three-part fan supplement for the upcoming Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast by Possum Creek Games.

It consists of:

  • Troubled Dreams, a chapter in which Sal has recurring nightmares, and Gertrude decides to enlist the help of others for a strange ritual to enter his dream and try to resolve his fears;
  • Furtive Glimpses, an odd unlockable journey with a Bingo and Whoopsie hinting at a nebulous presence you can't quite see; and
  • Pagzir Bentle, an unlockable guest from Sal's dream with fill-in-the-blanks details and a fascination with this peculiar waking world.

To play, you'll need Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast, either the free ashcan or the upcoming full game. It's something of a “spiritual crossover” with Dreampunk, but you don't need the Dreampunk rulebook to play. You will need some deck of surreal art cards, like Dreampunk or Dixit cards. If you're playing online, the Dreampunk digital deck might be handy.

“Where Dreams Take Root” is also inspired by Hilda, the works of Charles de Lint, and that one episode of Steven Universe.

Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast is copyright of Possum Creek Games Inc.

“Where Dreams Take Root” is an independent production by Xavid and is not affiliated with Possum Creek Games Inc. It is published under the Yazeba's Bed & Breakfast Third Party License.

This looks really interesting. I'm in a game of Yazeba's over on rpg.net at the moment, and using the Dreampunk / Everway / other cards to create dreams looks really fun!

Thanks, let me know if you try it!
