Warming

In Zen temples, work is a form of meditation called samu. Carrying firewood, cleaning floors, cooking food, and tending the garden is as much practice as sitting meditation is.

It’s easy to let things slip away until they seem too much to handle, to let small tasks pile up until they become daunting. Often this is something we feel compelled to hide from the world, to deny and conceal. It’s hard to ask for help, to reach out across the gulf between people and discard the cloak of “fine, thanks, and you?”

But we each have within us the power to make someone’s world a little brighter, a little easier, a little kinder.

Warming is a LARP-like activity for 3-10ish players with no separate facilitator and a home that needs love. It is designed to run from 1ish to maybe 6ish hours.
